years and never had a problem. it is a concern because it has always been a very safe neighborhood. >> but there is cause for concern in this and other area neighborhoods. police believe that one man started breaking into homes and cars, usually taking cash, purses, and property. >> i don't want kids to be growing up in a neighborhood where we have to be scared about what is going on. >> police believe he is responsible for 65 burglaries' and larcenies dating back to august 24. 21 incidents in the last week alone. >> everybody is closing the door, leaving the garages closed, we have neighbors that are getting alarm systems. >> checking out neighborhoods, we noticed plenty of accessible garage doors. the suspect is gaining entry thanks to windows in car doors that often have been left open.

>> we're keeping our doors and garages lot. looking out for anybody we don't know in the neighborhood. >> police believe that the suspect swiped a couple of handguns. for that reason, they're hoping that everyone is on the lookout and his crime spree ends quickly. at a car plows into a northeast washington building tonight, this was in the 700 block of nineteenth street. the driver crashed into the building in the car erupted into flames. the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. tonight, three children that escaped the deadly fire are back home with family. for the first time, relatives are speaking out about it. she asked two of her five children died, but she managed
